Attractive Vintage Two Drawer Oak Desk C1930s

An attractive early 1930s English oak desk with leather top, possibly once the property of Lady Rys-Willams, a label under one of the drawers leads us to think so. She was a British writer and politician who was successively a member of the Liberal National Party, the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party. 

She contested the 1938 Pontypridd by-election as a Liberal National candidate. Her candidacy attracted popular attention because she decided to stand when her baby daughter was just 8 days old. 

It's a good looking desk with its elegantly shaped oak legs and classic original oak handles. It sits firm with no wobbles, the drawers are running well which have the odd historic ink mark to the inside like most of that era. The dark green inset leather tooled top does have marks but is still very usable and presentable.

When purchasing from us we include delivery in the purchase price which is based on a one person delivery for England and Wales. Please call or email for quotes to Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Isles and for World-wide shipping. 

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item.  If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
