This sheet is really lovely, the linen metis fabric is so nice with a real country feel to it and interest to the weave. It dates to the early 1900s. This sheet would offer quite rustic bedding but could still be comfortable, it's not too stiff. But really this will come into its own as a great curtain, blind, bed cover, tablecloth or sofa throw. The choice is yours; any or all of the above!

Simple hand stitched hem with a monogram of the letters Pb set above. Colour is a pale creamy oatmeal. Unlaundered but with no bad marks to speak of. Light storage marks on the outside fold that will be dealt with as the sheet is given a soak and hot wash before use. No thinning, wear or damage; it has hardly been used.

Linen metis is a linen weft and cotton warp and has been very popular with French housewives down the generations. Less expensive than pure linen and a little easier to manage but still strong and long lasting.
