Item Details

We love to find these fabulous mid century work lights - they just don't make them like this any more!

Since the 1950s, Ferdinand Solère, a great name in French design, has been creating a series of lamps mainly for architects, as well as small workshops such as watchmakers, jewellers, and some rare models were intended for hospitals or even industry.

Light and easy to handle, they are made of anodised aluminium casting and chromed metal, always stamped several times with its name SOLR.

This light has a screw clamp to fix to a table, swivels horizontally and the extending arm articulates in a vertical plane. The shade also rotates and rotates around the top of the arm.

There is some very slight pitting in the chrome of the lower arm and some marks in the paintwork on the clamp. Both are cosmetic and do not affect the operation of the arms function but rather speak of a history of use and purpose.

It has been rewired and just PAT tested.

Overall length excluding clamp and shade:

Closed: 57cm  Extended:84 cm

Lower arm length: 23cm

Shade diameter: 25cm
