Item Description
This shrine originated in India in the 1890s. It is made from teak and is of incredible condition despite the age. Originally, it would have had a statue of the deity Ganesh placed upon it as it is believed he will bring health and prosperity to the household. This made it a very vital piece of furniture within an Indian household. It has also been hand-carved with peacocks on the front which, in Indian culture, symbolise good luck, prosperity and happiness.
Nowadays, it can be used as a unique storage space or decorative item for your home.
The dimensions of this are as follows: H - 36.5cm, W - 39cm, D - 24.5cm.
