Item Details

An eighteenth century, wooden mortar and pestle. The mortar is nicely turned, from a fruitwood, and the pestle is turned from ash. The mortar has a lovely patina and it dates from c.1780. There was a crack in the foot and a chip in the rim both of which have now been filled and this can be seen in the images. Otherwise it is in good condition and it is still quite usable.
Dimensions: Mortar: Height 15.3cm. Diameter 14.2cm. Pestle: Length 22.5cm. Diameter 5.2cm.
