Item Details

A beautifully carved, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is very deeply carved with hops and barley on a ribbon background. The carving is all very well detailed and the design is quite unusual. The board dates from c.1860. There are no chips and crack in the board but it does have some woodworm damage which has now been treated. It also has knife marks to both the face and the reverse, from use. The wood has a very dark patina.
