Item Description
A fairly small, 19th century, English copper mould. This is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above a pattern number “397”. To the opposite sider is a workman’s mark in the shape of a cross within a circle. The top of the mould is engraved with a letter “M” and this would be the initial of the original owner. The design has a ring of overlapping circles to the top, above fluted sides and this is known as a pennytop design. There is slight denting to both the sides, and the top of the mould, consistent with use, and the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Height 8.7cm. Diameter 11cm.
