This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above a pattern number “466”. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a circle. This design is from the same series as the Brunswick Star and the Alexandra Cross designs. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and dates from c.1870. The design consists of two tiers of plain, narrow columns which are divided by U shapes. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is in quite good condition so it could still be used.
