Item Details

An early 19th century, blue and white, transfer printed soup plate. This is marked, to the reverse, “STEVENSON & WILLIAMS COBRIDGE STAFFORDSHIRE”, within a ribbon cartouche, and it dates from c.1825. This was a short lived partnership between Ralph Stevenson and Aldborough Lloyd Williams. The partnership is not listed in directories but it is mentioned in a mortgage deed of 1825. The print has a central beehive surrounded by large floral cartouches and vases of flowers. It is a beautifully detailed print and the piece is in excellent condition.
