Item Details

A well carved, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is deeply carved with “The Staff of Life”, in an elaborate, Gothic script, and to the opposite side are ribbons with wheat and barley. The carving is all very well detailed and it dates from c.1870. There are two very tiny chips to the rim and knife marks to both the face and the reverse, from use. The wood has quite a dark patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.8cm. Depth 2.3cm.
