Item Details

A beautifully carved, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is very deeply carved with an unusual design incorporating three different types of leaves and berries and “Waste Not” in a cartouche. The carving is all very well detailed but is now beautifully worn with age. The board dates from c.1860. It is in good condition, with just the usual knife marks to both the face and the reverse, from use. The wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 31cm. Depth 1.8cm.
