Item Details

An unusual 19th century Copeland tile. This is marked “COPELAND”. The design is from a series depicting Medieval musicians which was introduced in 1878 and it would date from that year. This example is decorated in polychrome enamels over a coloured outline and shows a musician playing a lute. There are very tiny chips to three corners but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15cm square by 0.8cm thick.
