Item Details

A large, English copper deep saute pan. This is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1860. The base of the pan is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams. Originally this would have had a deep lid which sat over the sides of the pan but which also doubled as another saute pan, hence the straight angle of the handle. They were known as campaign pans. There is slight pitting to the handle but otherwise the pan is in very good condition. The interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 25.6cm. Depth of pan 6.2cm. Overall length of pan and handle 46.3cm.
