Item Details

A miniature, Victorian, cast iron box iron complete with slug, or fire brick. There are no manufacturers marks but this is English and dates from c.1870. The handle is nicely turned from mahogany. The fire brick, otherwise known as a slug, was put into the fire or onto the stove to heat and then placed into the iron. This is a lovely, small example and it is in excellent condition.
