A shallow, three part, pewter, ice cream banquet mould. This is stamped, in the base, with the registered design kite mark which dates the registration of the design of this mould to 1868. It is also stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams, “NO 48” and “PINT&1/2”, being the capasity. It dates from c.1870. The design has a large group of fruits to the top above fluted and beaded sides. It is a super shape and design which would turn out very well. The base is slightly misshapen but otherwise it is in good condition. The interior is still in very good, bright, usable condition and the exterior has a lovely, dark patina.
