Item Description
An unusual, two-part butter mould in the shape of a fish. This is well carved, in beechwood, and it dates from c.1840. The two parts fit together with pegs and, from the mould, you would turn out a three dimensional form of a fish.The fish is very well detailed and the mould in in good, usable condition. There are a number of woodworm holes in the wood but this has been treated and the woodworm is no longer active.
