Item Details

A Wedgwood earthenware jelly mould with a thistle to the base. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and there are also the impressed numbers “5 1/2” and “442”. The first number relates to the length of the mould in inches and the second number is the pattern number. It dates from c.1860. The thistle, to the base of the mould, is extremely well moulded and this is surrounded by a simple, fluted border. Unfortunately there is a large chip and a crack to the footrim which can be seen in the images. This would not prevent the mould from being used.
