The most wonderful completely Hand Painted Marriage Chest, originating from the Carpathian Area of Northern Romania and dating from the 19th Century.


These chests were given often by the new Husband to his Wife on their Wedding Day or sometimes given as a Dowry Chest.


This one is special in respect that the decoration is so beautiful not only to the exterior but to the interior as well.


The Chest is completely original with no apparent repairs or replacements. A great piece of beautiful and ornate storage.
