Antique Gillows Chest of Drawers Burr Walnut Ebonised C1910

A fine looking piece from Waring & Gillow with the makers stamp to two of the the drawers. This is a very well designed chest from Gillows with lovely proportions and oozes quality with its ebonised bun feet, shaped galleried back, well cast solid brass wreath inspired handles, stunning burr walnut to framed drawer fronts, sides and cushioned walnut to the ebonised edged top.

As mentioned it sits well with its 2 short top drawers and 3 long slightly graduated drawers below on a well made frame. Condition wise it's good with no splits to the sides, we have a few very thin nibbles to the rear side - hardly noticeable and not off putting,the lovely handles are in situ, drawers are running well and no nasty odours. The ebonised feet and edges are lightly aged, rubbed but nothing new, the top does have age marks but again nothing nasty, the burr walnut to the drawers and sides is of good tone and colour with very little if any fading. We have ensured the chest is clean and ready for use. Expect a well cared for and cherished piece with some aging.

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
