This early 20th Century French botanical specimen, labelled “Alisma plantago aquatica”, was set in a simply charming painted folk art style wooden frame of the period decorated with hand painted little white flowers. 

Having googled the Latin name, we find these white flowers are actually those of alisma plantago!

Perfectly lovely…
