Item Details

A pretty little pincushion and bobbin holder, made from vegetable ivory, the name was given because of it resemblance to animal ivory, but is actually a nut called the tagua nut and comes from certain palm trees. It was a popular material used in the Victorian period as its soft surface made it perfect to carve fine details.
