https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/country-house-interiorsLarge original oil on board titled "The last of it's line" by Jocelyn Whitehouse an artist latterly residing and working from her studio in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, an artists town.
Kirkcudbright was the home of many famous artists including E.Hornel and Jessie M. King.
This study is of the landscape from a Sussex bedroon window as far as the eye can see. It's well executed by a confident hand with a mixed colour palette, signed and dated to the lower left hand corner.
The information on the back, written by the artist, includes a beautiful poem about love "Had I the Heavens, embroidered cloths" by William Butler Yeats.
