Joan Rivers often told the story of the bee, and why it had become emblematic for her. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a true miracle.

This elegant piece of designer fashion jewellery is a fine example of the excellent craftsmanship from the collections of Joan Rivers Jewelry for QVC during the 1990`s.

Quality cast in gold gilt metal, with a large drop shape faux pearl. Faceted emerald green Austrian crystal rhinestones add a touch of colour to the eyes. Sixteen clear faceted rhinestones of different sizes decorate the pierced wings.

The piece is stamped at the back `JOAN RIVERS ©` (the Joan Rivers signature & copyright logo).

It has a standard clasp with a rollover safety mechanism.

New quality black leatherette gift box included.

This pin is in very good vintage condition with no damages. The gilt is in very good condition. The original rhinestones are all present. The faux pearl is in very good condition. A warm vintage patina is present in line with age & wear. The clasp is in full working order.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the boxed pin would be wrapped in bubble wrap & foam. It would be then put into another box with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier. We ship with reliable couriers (signed for, tracked & insured).

Joan Rivers (1933-2014 USA) first began designing & selling her jewellery, clothing and beauty products on the American TV channel QVC in 1990, a few years after the cancellation of her brief stint on The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers. The sales of River`s products were a success, exceeding $1 billion by 2014, making her one of the network`s top sellers.

Joan Rivers often told the story of the bee, and why it had inspired & become emblematic for her. Joan once explained that if you looked at aerodynamics & science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly. Physically, it was not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity & logic. The bee defied and beat the odds, a true miracle. Over the years her signature bee collection has had the biggest following between collectors.
