The aeroplane and the propeller still move when the wind blows. The weather vane probably dates to the early 1930’s, as plane designs transitioned from open cockpit bi-wing to streamlined, enclosed cockpit, mono-wing designs for greater speed. In the 1930’s most plane manufacturers built prototypes of streamlined Bi-planes to test fly.
Painted and mounted on a bespoke rusted iron base with its metal bracket still in place.
