Item Details

A decorative carved wood Elephant side table stool, hand painted in deep red paint, with decorative gilt and gem stones details. Most probably of Chinese origin, early part of the 20th Century. Oriental symbol ‘happiness in marriage’ to the sides and top, suggesting this may have been a marriage gift.


In very good overall condition, some losses and wear and a historic repair but a very good decorators piece with nice timeworn patina, of solid wood, therefore sturdy and strong.


A perfect large statement/centrepiece for use on a sideboard, table or as shelf art, and large enough as a floor standing piece, side table or plant stand.


Top measures 18cm x 18cm / 7 inch x 7 inch.
