Item Details
These late Victorian (c.1890s) stoneware beer / ginger beer bottles are wonderfully decorative pieces with a thick glaze and bold lettering. This example would have contained ginger beer produced by the Clayton Bros of London. The bottle itself was made by ‘Bourne Denby Potteries’ and has their stamp to the lower, left side.
Ginger beer was originally an alcoholic brew made from fermenting ginger, sugar, and water.
The bottle has survived it's years in good order with just small marking / discolouration.
The bottle measures 16.5cm high and is 7cm in diameter. The price includes UK Mainland delivery.
