Item Details

These cup and saucer shaped Nectar Tea enamel signs are an iconic piece of early, English advertising. Produced by the Patent Enamel Co Ltd, this sign is likely to date to the 1920s and these examples were primarily displayed on train station platforms up and down the country.

Often reproduced, it's wonderful to find an unquestionably original example - this one is good, clean and honest. There is some chipping / losses around the outer edges along with a little subsquent corrosion but the main face of the sign is in decent order.
The colours are bright and the gloss is good.

The sign measures 54cm wide x 32.5cm high.
