Charmingly simple, this double-sided, hand painted wooden sign oozes a naive / 'estate made' charm. The sign is for 'Ross (Gelatines) Ltd - Registered Office' - a simple wooden construction with an outer frame, I think it was originally painted black with the white lettering on top, but a lot of the black background paint has worn away revealing the graining of the wooden boards. I think the sign is likely to date to the 1930s/'40s though obviously with these hand done pieces it's hard to pinpoint as the styling / construction methods don't necessarily have much correlation with when it was actually made. Regardless, it's aged nicely and displays well. The sign measures 64cm wide x 29cm high x 3cm deep.
