Item Details

A subsidiary of the Raleigh Bicycle Company, Sturmey-Archer were (and probably still are) the name when it comes to bicycle hub gears.

This vibrant and wonderfully detailed poster for the Sturmey-Archer hub features a graphic of the 4-speed 'FW' hub which probably dates the poster to the 1950s. The poster was printed by J Howitt & Son Ltd, Nottingham.

The poster came from a small collection of undisplayed advertising material found in a closed-down bicycle shop. It's spent it's life stored between cardboard which has left horizontal lines across the poster. There's some discolouration / staining in the upper left and lower right corners but in my opinion this all adds to the vintage look and feel of the poster without detracting from it's overall impact.

The poster has been professionally framed and glazed and is ready to hang. 

Including the frame it measures 50.5cm high x 38.5cm wide.
