Item Details

This is a wonderfully rare tinplate model of the Citroen HY Van, manufactured by French company JRD, dating from the 1950s. This particular model has lived a hard life and if it were life-sized would be listed 'for spares/repairs', but despite the surface rust (making it all the more authentic a replica of a Citroen truck!), wonky suspension and a missing headlamp, the truck oozes charm and in many ways has a much more pleasing, softer aesthetic for it's wear and tear. The doors all open and the battery holder is still present as is it's original clockwork 'motor', though this remains untested. It embellished with the logo of Antar, a petroleum company that ran for just 49 years before being merged with larger petrol companies in the 1970s. JRD produced a wonderfully detailed replica of the HY van, with opening drivers door, sliding side door and opening rear doors. Originally it would've featured small light bulbs in the headlights wired to a battery holder underneath and number plate transfers front and rear. The truck is 34cm long, 17cm wide and 17.5cm high.
