This is an antique master shipping clerk's desk. An English, mahogany and leather partner desk, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.



  • Wonderfully wide example, with a broad writing surface and suite of drawers

  • Displays a desirable aged patina and in appealingly original order

  • Select stocks present fine grain interest and deep caramel hues

  • Presented in its original order, the leather skiver has superb character showing wax sealing-iron burns



  • Georgian overtones to the desk edge, with a tactile gadrooned finish

  • Generous desktop measuring 137.5cm (54.25'') across, above a bank of five drawers

  • The decorative reverse bank dressed with matching brass, drop handles

  • Each drawer replete with an inset brass lined lock — keys absent



  • Shaped brackets accentuate the kneehole to each side of the desk

  • Broad cabriole legs at each corner adorned with leaf carvings to the knees
