This is a large drawing room sofa. An English, mahogany two seat settee with show frame, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.



  • Exquisite upholstery complements the striking display frame

  • Carved shell motif to the cresting rail, cascading in serpentine manner to the arms

  • Embroidered centrepiece to the back rest, with cherubs set within a foliate frieze

  • Broad, rolled arms with a sumptuous cushioned covering and accompanied with removable bolsters

  • Of generous size for three, but arranged as two cushions for superior comfort



  • Arresting carved shell supports, above Baroque relief presenting itself in scroll form

  • Unusual tubbed ends offer a fine view of the superb figuring

  • Lower apron scrolls its way to the centre, meeting in a final scallop shell form

  • Raised upon a pair of broad lion paw feet to the fore, with matching, shaped stile rears
