This is an antique McDonald's rotary hat iron. An American, nickel and ebonised millinery tool in original box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Fascinating hat iron, presented with the original box and instruction leaflet
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
- Beautifully polished nickel plate presents bright tonality
- Tactile handle, turned and ebonised for a deep black contrast
- Heated for use, the iron is useful for smoothing out the nap of silk top hats
- Engraved to the end of the iron for the countries in which it was patented
- The handle cap states the date of the patent being granted - June 7th, 1892
- Lightly time-worn box with an illustrated label, the supplied leaflet in superb order
