This is an antique sewing table. An English, lacquered and handpainted work table in Japanned taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
- Charming hand painted work table, with an appealing foliate decor
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good, lightly time worn manner
- Lacquered frame with a sarcophagus top over distinctive legs
- Decorated with bouquets of flowers across every surface in golden hues
- Top opens to reveal the clear, bright mirror plate, displaying light foxing commensurate with age
- Inset compartment tray can be removed to extend the internal storage area
- Concealed drawer to the fascia, the trailing edge adorned with a shaped bracket apron
- Raised upon a quartet of fascinating shaped legs, terminating in scrolled toes
