This is an antique Sutherland table. An English, burr walnut gate-leg 4-seat occasional table, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.



  • Impressively figured oval table in the traditional Sutherland form

  • Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order

  • Quality burr walnut presents superb grain interest, with book-matching to top

  • Elegantly turned baluster legs united with a stretcher rail between prominent cabriole feet

  • Each foot decorated with blind fretwork carving and scrolled toes

  • The whole riding smoothly upon a set of six, original brass castors
