This is a large antique ink stone display set. A Chinese, ornamental set of calligraphic stones, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1900.

  • Enticingly framed with superb layering of materials, the stones pressed behind glass

  • Decorative frame edge with bamboo effect and patterned gilt metal border

  • Each of the eighteen stones display a figure accentuated in a golden hue

  • Mounted upon silk cotton with a chased foliate embroidered pattern

  • Dressed to the rear with hanging wire for ease of mounting
