This is a vintage military terrestrial telescope. A Canadian, chromed brass naval Officer of the Watch refractor by the Canadian Kodak Company, dating to the WWII period, circa 1940.


Perfect for bird watching, landscape appreciation, wildlife, or maritime observation. Equally suitable for observing the night sky



  • Fascinating and tactile World War II period telescope from the Canadian war effort

  • Displaying a desirable aged patina and good original order throughout

  • Chromed brass shows bright silver tones with minimal tarnishing

  • Primary barrel dressed with a distinctive black crackle finish



  • Of single draw type, drawing from a length of 32.5cm (12.75'')

  • When fully drawn with sun shade extended, occupies a length of 60cm (23.5'')

  • Front element with a generous objective diameter of 40mm (1.5'')

  • Draw tube rotates to gain focus with an engraved marker to collar of '0 + 5 - 5 - 0'

  • Flared eyepiece at the rear with concentric, stepped detail



  • Replete with green canvas protective sleeve, offering a close fit to the body

  • Engraving to the final barrel reads CKC Pattern 373C and serial number 2226

  • CKC is the Canadian Kodak Company - the military broadarrow identifying its purpose

  • Supplied with a London Fine oak and brass Captains Stand for display
