A book title from the very collectable 'Puffin Picture Book' series. This one by John Maddison, and illustrated by Phyllis Ladyman, tells the story and explains the making of moving pictures, or in other words, film-making.
This series of books was started in 1940 by Penguin Books. They were edited by Noel Carrington, an authority on print and design, who commissioned many of the leading graphic artists of the period, including Edward Bawden, Clarke Hutton, Brynhild Parker, and Enid Marx.
