1950’s Luterma Blonde Oak Bentwood Dining Chair – Set Of Pair. The process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Luterma launched production. Luterma was one of the brands marketed by Estonian factory A.M. Luther which was founded in the late 19th Century in Tallinn. Luthers production was principally in Estonia but they also had factories in France for local market production. At the time of the Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer worked with the factory to develop various models. These chairs date from the 1950s, a simple classic shape with a beautiful colour and elegant saddle backs. We service and rejuvenate each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 47cm.

Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
