1950’s Original Tolix Model A Dining Outdoor Chairs – Set Of Six.
1950’s Original Tolix Model A Dining Outdoor Chairs – Set Of Six. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic cafe chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. This is a set of six original A chairs in great condition, originally the chairs were painted yellow and they have at some stage been overpainted in a stunning sea blue allowing hints of the original yellow to pop through. Stunning chairs full of character. Seat height: 44cm
