1960’s Original French T55 Tolix Rectangular Dining Table – 160cm (Model 1330.2). Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic café chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. Tolix used their metal working skill to also produce exquisitely designed but practical café/dining tables to partner their chairs. The T55 is the iconic Tolix table and this is an unusual and practical 160cm size. This table comes in its beautiful light khaki paint although the original colour looks like it was a soft grey, the overpainting gives an exceptional character. Knee height: 59cm.

Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
