Item Description
This modernist landscape is painted in stylised, blocky strokes of pure colour, evoking the feeling of sunset by the river. Michel Adlen was a Ukranian artist who lived in Paris during the 1920s, where he was influenced by cubism. This can be sensed through the style of the buildings in this work. A number of his engravings were purchased during his lifetime by museums in Moscow and Kiev. Artist Name: Michel Adlen (b. Saki, Ukraine 1898 - d. Paris, France 1980)
