Item Description
A spectacular Murano glass and white marble table lamp, circa 1950, attributed to Alfredo Barbini.
The lamp has a hand blown teardrop ribbed glass form with controlled bubbles running through the pale blue glass. Set on a white marble plinth and with a marble cap, it's just gorgeous.
Alfredo Barbini ( 1912-2007 ) was a Master Glass Blower and Designer, a leading figure in 20th century glass design. He was born on the island of Murano to a family of prominent glassblowers. He started his apprenticeship at the age of 13 and by 20 was considered a Master in his craft.
Rewired with ivory twist cable, antique brass bulb holder, black plug and PAT tested.
