Item Description
ANTIQUE SIDE CHAIR
An iconic and much-imitated design by the godfather of Arts and Crafts architecture Philip Speakman Webb and manufactured by William Morris’s Morris & Co.
An elegant silhouette of ebonised beech with a detailed spindle back, a woven rush seat standing on turned tapering legs united by turned stretchers.
Dating from the late 19th century period, circa 1860-1900.
Overall the chair is in good vintage condition, all joints seem secure and the rush seat is in good order. There is some wear throughout commensurate with age including wear to the ebonised finish in natural places which we think adds to its charm.
Approximate measurements 42cm wide x 40cm deep x 85cm high. The seat height is roughly 45cm.
