ANTIQUE WORKSHOP CUPBOARD


A country-made piece with ledge and braced doors, blacksmith-made penny-end T hinges and a corniced top.


Constructed from pine and retaining the original dusky red paint which has worn naturally over time from age and use creating a patina and craquelure to the finish which is highly decorative.


The two doors open up to reveal four internal shelves with a green-painted interior.


Probably dates from the late 18th/early 19th century period.


It is in good vintage condition, it is solid and sturdy and everything works as it should. As it has been a workshop cupboard for most of its life it is full of imperfections and cosmetic wear which make it what it is, add to its charm and tells its story. It has been repaired and added to over the years The feet are recent additions. There is some old dead woodworm present which we have treated for good measure.
