Helo Lighting Company was founded in 1946 by Henry Gerhard in Neuburg Germany. They started with the production of aluminum and brass workshop & factory lighting in an unusual factory in the north wing of Neuburg Castle.

In 1951 the company reported 90 employees & moved its operations to Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse due to the need for a larger production space. Helo later moved to Schwalbanger, their current company headquarters.

The Kaiser Lighting Company acquired the rights to use the Helo brand & individual models such as the " Inspector's Light ". In the 1980s Helo ceased producing lighting as we know it & concentrates now as an electrical trading company .
