Rare 1950s wall or work top mountable industrial task lamp designed by renowned German designer Curt Fischer for Midgard .


In amazing working condition, these lamps were originally fixed to walls & worktops in factory's & workshops to be moved as needed to illuminate work areas.


Still in original paint & amazing condition. We have wired this light with an external cable & plug, if desired this light can be fitted intravenously so that the cable is hidden in the wall or under a work surface. In amazing condition, expertly restored cleaned, rewired & PAT safety tested ready to go. This lamp uses a E27 fitting screw in bulb. Lamp supplied with an E27 LED light bulb.

Midgard was founded in 1919 by the engineer Curt Fischer. As a manufacturer lighting who are still producing in Germany to date. Midgard constructed the first articulated " steering lamps “, it was a true innovation in lighting at the start of the 20th century. This is why Curt Fischer is considered the inventor of tractable light by many. Fischer became the supplier of lighting to the Bauhaus school, where the Midgard lamps could be found on work desks as well as at the desks of renowned designers & teachers at Bauhaus like Gropius, Wagenfeld, Brandt & Stoelzl as well as in their bauhaus apartments. In 2015 David Einsiedler & Joke Rasch took over the Midgard company from third generation Fischer family & start producing lighting again in hamburg after restructuring the Midgard company.


Many of the items we have for sale are all from what we refer to as " Real Life ", they were all made for use & purpose. There will always be signs of use & ageing which we think gives each item its individuality & personal charm. We clean & repair but we always try our best to keep everything in its original state. We will always give you a good idea of condition & especially highlight anything that we consider may have aesthetic or structural concern.
