A hand carved wooden sculpture of a bird from the Adan people of Ghana C1970. Representing a high and courageous power, this ancestral piece has a chalk white pigment to the surface, which was traditionally applied as part of a ceremonial washing. A simplistic, decorative piece of tribal art.
