A very well illustrated piece written by Thomas B. Hess, an American art editor and curator, best known for his work with the art magazine 'ARTnews'. In this work, Hess provides a study on the popular American artist Barnett Newman, one of the leading figures in abstract expressionism and colour field painting.
The book is Dedicated to "Mr and Mrs Will Sandberg". Will Sandberg was the Director of the Stedelijk Museum.
