Mid-20th Century Folk art Carved Male Wooden Bust

“He could have smiled at least”, An unusual folk art carved wooden bust in the form of a grumpy looking man. Carved from a single piece of heavy patinated wood, with naïve yet well-formed artistic craftsmanship. Sign and dated at the base R. Coupoux 1966. Robert Coupoux is a well-known French artist who studied fine art in Paris (France), more renowned for his paintings rather than his sculptures.
